Our Dream Home

Our Dream Home

So, I still remember that literally the second time Grant ever came to my house, I caught him taking really big dramatic steps in my closet. So I ask, "What are you doing?" And he was like it's my builder walk. He said he had to make sure that he would be able to build me a closet big enough. Keep in mind this was his second time to ever come to my house, so I just kind of heard it and closed my ears towards any more talk. So if you don't already know, when Grant and I met and started dating we were basically neighbors. Grant lived .6 miles behind me and he helped develop the neighborhood that I lived in. He actually told me the night he met me that he knew where I lived because he had complaint letters that he never delivered my way. 34 emails to be exact now that I have asked him more recently. So anyways, I would see Grant working on house plans. At first I was real weird and din't want any part of it, because I did not want us to be moving too fast in our dating life. Then I figured well he is for sure either going to build...Read More
My Secrets About our Paris Trip by Randa Carrabba

My Secrets About our Paris Trip by Randa Carrabba

Hey y'all! So this post is from back in August of 2016. Grant took me to Paris! It was a 4 day layover on our way to an African Safari Hunt in Namibia. We chose to lay over in Paris to get us more on the same time frame as Africa since we would be traveling across the world. Grant got this trip at a charity auction in November of 2015 (a month before he proposed to me) and I remember waking up to a text message saying, "Do you think you could take a week off to go with me to Africa?" I felt a little bad that he thought I might not be able to take time off of work for a once in a lifetime trip with the man of my dreams, but I told him of course I would find way! Keep in mind this was when I still had my retail store front, so being gone was super hard. And we actually ended up being gone for 2 weeks with travel time and the Paris layover, so double as hard as the original 1 week plan. But oh so worth it! This time of year Paris was not crowded at all, but also a few of the...Read More
DIY Wedding Shoe Showcase Display

DIY Wedding Shoe Showcase Display

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I feel like this has been a super long week. I am excited to share my first of many home design type of blogs. If you follow me on instagram or snapchat, you already know that I've been working on giving my back porch quite the fact lift, so I am working hard on some fun projects to keep sharing with y'all! This one is a simple little show case display in my closet featuring my wedding shoes. Now this project cost me $0 because if you'll look closely, this is actually a football display showcase box. It was an extra one Grant had laying around in a spare closet, so I put it to good use. So maybe this will encourage one of you to get creative with something your husband no longer uses and has laying around. Also in the box is a super cute Unicorn wine holder that my friend Tiffany gave me featuring a pink bottle of Champagne my friend Emily gave me. I also have my beautiful custom hair piece by Maria Elena Headpieces to match my customized princess Monique Lhuillier dress from our wedding day, as well as a sample of the beautiful gold crown and...Read More

Current Life Update – Goodbye Summer Hello Fall

Hey y'all! So I have soooo many things happening in my world that I wanted to just give y'all a current life update for a blog post. Grant and I have just returned from 2 weekends of traveling. First was to Aspen, Colorado for my family vacation and this past weekend was to Los Angeles, California for the Aggie Football Game. I still need to blog an overview of Aspen for y'all. It was incredible!!! But now I am excited to have a few weekends at home to catch up on some work projects and maybe get to even sneak in a little R&R time with my hubby and Bucky! If you don't already keep up with my daily life - you can through my snapchat or my instagram stories. I will be setting up a Southern Jewlz pop up shop this Thursday (11-4) and Friday (11-7) at Catwalk Hair Studio. I have gotten my hair done at this salon for 8 years now and am dear friends with the owner Tiffany! I will have lots of great maroon pieces perfect for the first Aggie Football home game (you can see the game day collection here). I'll also have some fall transition pieces, too. We will have some specials and door prizes...Read More
My Husband Built a Beautiful Home!

My Husband Built a Beautiful Home!

Hey y'all! If you already follow me on instagram, then you have seen this house that my husband recently built. I've had a lot of questions about it, so I decided to do a blog to answer everyone's questions. And before we proceed, my husband is not a custom home builder. He is a real estate developer and only builds spec homes on a few lots. So I am sorry to say from the beginning that he is not for hire for a custom home, however there are many wonderful custom builders in town! Grant really does have the best taste of any straight man that I know. Haha sorry for that bit, but it's true. That's one of the things I love about him. He loves to dress nice and he has a really good sense of things that just go together. The homes that I have seen him build are absolutely beautiful, including our own that I will be sharing after the New Year! This house is going to be on the Parade of Homes in Austin's Estates in Bryan, TX, and I believe it will be a show stopper. After seeing the house finished, I am calling its style "Modern Farmhouse meets Traditional Glam". Grant took only a little...Read More
