Our Rehearsal Dinner Video

Our Rehearsal Dinner Video

Hey there.  So I hesitated on sharing something with the entire world that I made for our closest family and friends to see at our rehearsal dinner, but then I re-evaluated and told myself, "Randa, if you're going to be a Lifestyle Blogger, you've gotta get used to sharing a lot about you", so here we are. For those of you that kept up with my wedding planning process, you will know I went for a storybook/fairytale theme.  The official theme would be said as "Classic Fairytale meets Victorian Valentine".  So creating a video to tell mine and Grant's stories growing up and beginning to date and through our engagement to share at our rehearsal dinner was a project I was super excited to work on.  I even had a custom Disney opening animation created to add to the film. I'll share more from our big weekend along my blogging journey, so I hope you look forward to more! So without further adue, here you go.  I hope you enjoy seeing more into my life and love I have for Grant!  Cheers to learning a little more about us! https://youtu.be/QbcJcR7IQhE xoxo,
How to Choose Your Bridesmaids {& Bridal Party}

How to Choose Your Bridesmaids {& Bridal Party}

Hello all! I am sooo excited to share this blog post in hopes that I help OR touch many other bride-to-be's and maybe even some other women who may simply be struggling in the girlfriend department.   Whether you're single, already married, or engaged and planning a wedding, who you choose as you bridal party or even just as your friends is a BIG DEAL!  Ok here it goes... I'm a girl's girl.  I believe strongly in women loving, supporting and empowering each other... Let me start by saying I am a girl's girl.  I have always said that a girl who has no girlfriends and "only gets along with the guys because they don't have any drama" is a red flag.  I also feel that a girl who has new girlfriends every year rather than keeping and investing in any previous friendships raises some eyebrows as well.  I believe that as women, we need other women friends.  Sometimes the men in our lives just don't "get" certain things. And I love to support and promote women to be the happiest and the best version of themselves.  That's a lot of the meaning behind my Southern Jewlz company.  Jewl: a self motivated woman who believes in empowering, complimenting and encouraging other women. My personal...Read More
10 Random Facts About My Little Family

10 Random Facts About My Little Family

Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Today I had a serious case of the Mondays, and I usually don't. So I'm gonna try and get some good rest tonight and try out some lavendar oil so that I can be good and rejuvenated for tomorrow and the rest of the work week. Since I'm still new to this blog life, I wanted to post a short, sweet and fun post. So here's 10 random facts about Grant, Bucky and I! Our wedding photographers (Luke and Cat) have 2 bulldogs, so they were super cheery to let us add our little fur baby in our pictures! I mean, how handsome is he below!? 1. If we all got to pick what was worth breaking our diet over - the answer would easily be ice cream. For all of us - Bucky included! I let him lick the empty ice cream tubs when we finish one and it's like he hit the jackpot! 2. We love to go on neighborhood walks, but Bucky can really only go about a mile these days. He's 10 and a half and that's really old in bulldog years! 3. If we were to rank from top to bottom in terms of the best cuddlers/those that...Read More
Just Why am I so into this Unicorn thing?

Just Why am I so into this Unicorn thing?

I figured a few of you may wonder just why I'm so obsessed with Unicorns and why I call Grant my Unicorn and why the Unicorn has such a meaning in our relationship.   So, I'm gonna give you the run down... When Grant and I first started dating, there would be multiple days in the week when I would go straight to his house whenever I got off of work.  (95% of the time I work later than Grant: fun fact!)  I remember how I couldn't wait to see him and little Bucky after a long day.  We would sit on his big wrap around leather couch and talk about our day and/or just share more about ourselves either while dinner was cooking or after we had just finished dinner. I remember it was like a week or two before Grant had officially asked me to be his girlfriend (which was October 4, 2015 btw) and the subject of Halloween got brought up. I had never dressed up for Halloween with a guy, and since I was crazy about Grant from the start, well I wanted so badly for us to dress up together.   I immediately asked Grant what he had been the year before in hopes that he was one...Read More
Wedding Glam Squad

Wedding Glam Squad

When it came to choosing my beauty team for my wedding there were multiple things I considered.  1) I didn't want it to be any of my friends.  Even though I am a huge advocate for supporting all of my friend's businesses, I know that wedding day beauty between being a bride and having a full crew of girls to get ready can be a lot of emotions and a lot of estrogen flying around.  So, if emotions became involved during any of the get-ready process, I didn't want to hinder a friendship.  2) I wanted something that photographed very well and matched the light and airy pink princess look I was going for, without sacrificing the little drama details that can truly take a girl from pretty to stunning. 3) I decided to ask my favorite photographer who also happened to me my wedding photographer - Cat Neumayr of Luke and Cat Photography.  Cat is very particular about her makeup and she always looks like a porcelain doll in her pictures, plus I know she was sure to recommend me to what she truly thought would be the best fit for me.  So let me formally introduce my beauty glam squad to you - Hey Lovely Makeup from Houston, Texas.  And...Read More
My Secrets About our Paris Trip by Randa Carrabba

My Secrets About our Paris Trip by Randa Carrabba

Hey y'all! So this post is from back in August of 2016. Grant took me to Paris! It was a 4 day layover on our way to an African Safari Hunt in Namibia. We chose to lay over in Paris to get us more on the same time frame as Africa since we would be traveling across the world. Grant got this trip at a charity auction in November of 2015 (a month before he proposed to me) and I remember waking up to a text message saying, "Do you think you could take a week off to go with me to Africa?" I felt a little bad that he thought I might not be able to take time off of work for a once in a lifetime trip with the man of my dreams, but I told him of course I would find way! Keep in mind this was when I still had my retail store front, so being gone was super hard. And we actually ended up being gone for 2 weeks with travel time and the Paris layover, so double as hard as the original 1 week plan. But oh so worth it! This time of year Paris was not crowded at all, but also a few of the...Read More
The Reason Why I Didn’t Post a Picture of my Wedding Ring until Now

The Reason Why I Didn’t Post a Picture of my Wedding Ring until Now

Hey y'all! So I'm feeling super girl boss-ish this evening, and I wanted to share what's running through my mind with each of y'all! So I've joined in on the Jenna Kutcher instagram challenge and I am so glad I did. What first I was very nervous to jump on board with has me super feeling confident in who and what I am! You can follow along on my instagram account to see for yourself. Anyways, today I am sharing more about myself. Those of you who know me as the owner of Southern Jewlz boutique know that there is a crown in the logo. So I wanted to share a little more on what the crown symbolizes to me. The crown is a symbol of royalty to me. When I look at the SJ crown I think of a powerful female who is beautiful from the inside out. She is confident, yet encouraging and stunning, yet complimentary. When I question or look up more of the official meaning, I am soon to be answered with "power, legitimacy, victory, triumph, honor, and glory, righteousness, and resurrection." And you know what? I can't argue with any of those. At first I thought that resurrection was too far off and that I should leave...Read More

DIY Wedding Shoe Showcase Display

Hey y'all! Happy Friday! I don't know about you, but I feel like this has been a super long week. I am excited to share my first of many home design type of blogs. If you follow me on instagram or snapchat, you already know that I've been working on giving my back porch quite the fact lift, so I am working hard on some fun projects to keep sharing with y'all! This one is a simple little show case display in my closet featuring my wedding shoes. Now this project cost me $0 because if you'll look closely, this is actually a football display showcase box. It was an extra one Grant had laying around in a spare closet, so I put it to good use. So maybe this will encourage one of you to get creative with something your husband no longer uses and has laying around. Also in the box is a super cute Unicorn wine holder that my friend Tiffany gave me featuring a pink bottle of Champagne my friend Emily gave me. I also have my beautiful custom hair piece by Maria Elena Headpieces to match my customized princess Monique Lhuillier dress from our wedding day, as well as a sample of the beautiful gold crown and...Read More
10 Things I Learned Growing Up a Sheriff’s Daughter…

10 Things I Learned Growing Up a Sheriff’s Daughter…

Hey everyone! I hope y'all are all having a great day celebrating Father's Day. Grant and I had his parents, my parents and my grandparents over for lunch today at our house. Quality time together is always our preferred gift of choice on Holidays! So for those of you who don't already know, I grew up the daughter of a law enforcement officer. My dad was a deputy sheriff before I was born and then in 3rd grade the current sheriff decided to retire and asked my dad to run for office. He has been the county sheriff ever since. Growing up, my dad was easily my favorite over my mom. He calls himself now Disneyland dad. Whenever he would have days off, we would play and go on adventures. He would always tell me that my outfits looked pretty and would say yes to just about any activity I would think of. But he was also the primary disciplinarian. Getting a spanking from my dad was always something I dreaded, but I would take it. He told me if I tried to talk my way out of it or turned away while he was whipping me, that it would only add on more of the punishment. So I would have to...Read More
